Foster Grandparent Program
The program provides a way for
volunteers age 55 and over to stay active by serving
children and youth in the Zuni Community

Senior Companion Program
Senior Companions are volunteers age
55 and over who make a difference by providing assistance
and friendship to adults who have difficulty with daily
living task, such as cleaning and other household chores.
We help these adults remain independent in their homes
instead of having to move to more costly institutional
care. Senior Companions give family caregiver much needed
time off from their duties, run errands, and often provide
friendship for their clients.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be 55 or older
- Must meet the low income eligibility
- Must pass the background check
- Must be healthy to serve as a volunteer
Senior Companions serve 20 to 30 hours per week helping an average of two to four adult clients live independently in their own homes.
FGP/SCP Volunteers receive pre-service orientation, training, and may qualify to earn a tax-free hourly stipend.
