Applicants must attend orientation and/or review the scholarship portion of ZECDC handbook. Students must submit an application each academic year (August-May). Summer semester is a separate application process.
Many students and families are not well versed in financial literacy surrounding college costs, which is most detrimental to those who are relying on financial aid and students loans to pay for their education. According to the US Dept. of Education, 59% of all students graduating from a four-year college carry with them debt from student loans, usually across multiple issuers and a mix of private and federal programs. Most students are unaware of the long term implications that all these loans can have on their future, such as impact to personal credit rating and at worse, bankruptcy.
For this reason, the team at TheSimpleDollar.com have developed a guide that will help students and their families gain in depth knowledge about student loans along with practical strategies to manage their debt as well as potentially identifying if loan consolidation is an option.
